CLUB is a non-profit association established March 3rd 1995 in Konstanz, born from an initiative of the cities of Venice, Lisbon, Paris and the Bodensee Region. At this time, only a few "pioneer" companies had started working on contactless technology applications, and the need for a "getting-together" of these pioneers became obvious in terms of reflections and helping each other. Therefore, the first association in the world in this field was born: CLUB, with the following moto: "Share experience and progress together"

1995 ; Club included ten european members. A national chapter was created in Italy and with almost 45 members became an independant organization. In 2003, Club opened to suppliers, consultants, and manufacturers ; Partnerships were built with Kontiki, a german association, Smarte, a british company dealing with contactless, RFID and NFC issues, and Club italia. The events also started focuing on different areas of the smart card industry, banking, mobile phones, access control, traveller information... And today, with almost 30 members, it is a strong organization , at its members'service.
